Today I wanted to make a sketch of my living room, while Camille, my cat, was peacefully sleeping in a corner of the couch.
The couch is very red, with white blankets on it to protect it from cat hair and from friends spilling wine and food on it 😉
I drew on the left foreground a piece of bookshelf and then I went to the right untill the curtain.
I happened to be muc too enthousiastic with splashes… OOPS !
They’re not easy to wipe away on that paper… now watercolour is never easy to wipe away…. But this paper was quickly damaged.
I painted the trees on the painting above the couch. because the green earth and the birches soften the redness of the couch.

I’ve only recently started drawing / painting and I’m still looking for my style. How wonderfully easy and relaxed they put their impressions on paper. I am very fascinated by the relaxed grip of the pencil in combination with the almost playful brushwork.
It is not that easy, as the attempt to put my “blue couch” on paper shows. Hard to see that the dark spot of color should represent a sofa.

Nein, ich werde die Rückseite nicht benutzen, denn ich hänge sie manchmal gerne auf oder lege sie ungefaltet in mein Bücherregal, und dann sehe ich die Rückseite sowieso nicht, ich beginne lieber ein neues Skizzenbuch.
